If Nicodemus does not understand depravity, why would he be looking for themes of restoration by mercy and grace?

Cause & Effect

Before we are born again, we are only natural creatures operating with natural understanding. We cannot understand spiritual things.

Who’s in Control?

If we were true to the understanding of our own depraved nature separate from the grace of God, we would only rejoice in this sovereign act of God! He did what we CANNOT do!

Water & Spirit

Jesus is not teaching that you have to be both physically born and spiritually born.

We Know

Simply put, the only way to see or enter into the kingdom of God is by a marvelous and irresistible act of grace performed on a person by the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit.

What Is Jesus Like?

He came in power against sin. Moreover, He came in the power of amazing grace so that we are not consumed by His rage against sin but made able to stand by the power of his grace and mercy.
