And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?

The religious leaders of the first century thought they had everything figured out. The problem is, they were completely wrong! They did not even recognize the Messiah when He was in the synagogue with them!
Jesus did not fit their definition what Messiah ought to be. Therefore, they rejected Him.
The modern Christian “church” feels that the Jesus of the Bible is too outdated. They feel the need to make Him more attractive to the world. The biggest problem with that is that if the Messiah was just like everybody else then He wouldn’t be the Messiah!
Just because Jesus does not fit our mold of what we think a Savior should be does not make Him any less than Who He is!
We should return to the written word of God to learn more about the truth of THE WORD OF GOD – Jesus Christ.
Let us do as Paul told us in Romans 12 – renew our minds. Toss out any manmade definition of the King of kings and look afresh at the amazing Savior of the Bible!
