Our understanding of righteousness is very vital to how we live every day.

We need to have Biblical truth as the foundation of our lives or we can be easily fooled into following dangerous false doctrines.

This is not an endorsement of slavery or the slave-trade. Paul is dealing with an historical fact of bond-servitude that was used to pay off debts or other charges. The equivalent today is the relationship between boss and employee.
