Susanna

Susanna

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

Luke 8:3

This is the only place in scripture where Susanna is mentioned, but, oh, what a singular testimony to have!

She was ministering to Jesus.

In our vain efforts to gain recognition among men, we endanger ourselves to have our faults and failures exposed as much as our accomplishments. It would serve us well to walk in silence as humble servants of the Lord. For perhaps, the memory of us would only be – “He was with the Lord!”

Susanna, Mary Magdalene, and Joanna have their names listed in this passage, but there were other women who took care of Jesus’ personal needs throughout His ministry. Though unnamed, they were vital to the progress of the kingdom. I like to call these disciples A.Y.V.’s

They are Anonymous Yet Vital children of God.

They do nothing for their own benefit or recognition. They simply serve Jesus. We would do well to emulate that behavior.

These precious Sisters sought no fame, but they will forever be recorded in Holy Writ!
