And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
Luke 7:16-17
There are still many today that claim they have the power to heal disease and other infirmities of the body. These so-called “faith healers” are nothing more than charlatans. When they are not able to perform the miracle they promise, they blame the person seeking help or those around him for their lack of faith.
If they truly have the power to heal, then they should also have the power to do the other things Jesus did not the least of which is raise the dead!
I challenge these false prophets and those that follow after them to put these supposed powers to the true test.
Raise someone to life who has just died!
Better yet, raise someone to life who has been dead for four days!
Even further, raise someone from the dead who has been dead for years like the saints that raised after Jesus!
And finally, I challenge those that claim to have these powers to raise themselves from the dead three days later!
Oh, wait. They can’t hear me.
By the way, this applies to raising the spiritually dead in sin to eternal life in Christ. If the preacher cannot raise a physical body from a physical grave, neither can he bring spiritual life to someone who is spiritually dead.
