Triumphal Feast • Colossians Series 13 “Let the Word of Christ Dwell in You Richly” Colossians 3:16

Colossians 13 • Let the Word of Christ Dwell in You Richly • Colossians 3:16 – Elder Bryce Lowrance Paul’s charge to us in Colossians, Chapter 3 is to live our lives like the born-again children we are. I order to do this, we must put away the desires of the things of the world and live our lives in charity for others. This behavior is blessed by the peace of God. But how do we become more devoted in this endeavor? Paul says that the word of Christ should dwell in us, and the key to making that happen is the singing of quality hymns that are filled with the wisdom of the Bible. Preaching with Authority

To preach with authority does not mean that you are loud, can boast several degrees, or show how many books you have published. A man that preaches with authority gets his doctrine form the word of God. He gives glory to God. He feedsthe sheep with knowledge and understanding. He loves like a shepherd and does not threaten like a taskmaster.

We have the most sure word of truth to guide us. The Bible is true and should be read and followed.

1st John Series • 11. Be Your Own Fact Checker – 1st John 4:1-6 Part 1 In Chapter 4, the Apostle John sounds another warning to God’s people to be aware of and avoid the false doctrines of the world. John tells us to put everything we hear “on trial” by comparing it to the word of God. When we do this we can have assurance that we are standing in the truth and have peace and joy despite the fact we are surrounded by wickedness and hate in the world.
