To truly believe in Jesus, we must believe the Jesus described in the Bible. The Jesus of the Bible is God. He is the Son of God Who came in the flesh, to die in the flesh, so that we may live forever with Him and see Him with my own eyes!
While we are no longer under the law as far as practicing ordinances, tithing, and sacrifices, the moral law of God still abides. And the most important expression of the character of God in the law abides as well – self sacrifice.
We should learn from this that trusting in God is the right thing to do but that does not mean that life suddenly becomes easier. In fact, when we do trust God and move toward Him, the devil doubles down on his attacks. Therefore, we should pray more, fast more, and trust God more!
In this, we get a glimpse at the sovereign right of God to do things as He wills. Our will, desires, or plans are sometimes considered by God. But in any case, God has the right to do things however He wants to. After, He is God!
In order to truly dwell in the kingdom of God (and not just visit from time to time), we need to understand what things, situations, relationships, etc. work against our discipleship.
We may be called to anonymous service to our Redeemer. Not many may know our name. Or if they do, they know very little about us, but … Jesus knows us!
