When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
We have been living in the last times since Jesus came to earth. Therefore, we should live in a way that reflects our belief that Jesus came the first time as the Messiah to redeem us from our sins and that He is coming a second time to take us home!
God chose a certain number of people before the world began in the covenant of election. When those elect, by the regenerated spirit given them by God, do good works, we ought to glorify the covenant God of election!
When trials come, let us remember the “faith of a dog,” and stay at the feet of Jesus as long as we need Him.
At first glance, some might think that in this passage Jesus is fed up with fighting against the Pharisees and joins in their overtly racist attitudes towards anyone that is not a Jew. Let me assure, that is not the case.
Most of us do not want to admit how horrible we truly are. We want to be in control of our destiny. The problem is we would choose wrong every time if not for God’s mercy acting on us.
Without the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, no man can stand before a holy God.
